NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
WELLINGTON NORTHÂ – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Georgian Bluffs resident under the Highway Traffic Act.
On May 8, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative and conducted a traffic stop on Simpson Street East, within Alma.
As a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old from Georgian Bluffs is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Overweight vehicle – violate permit
- Draw trailer, no identification number
- Operate vehicle – fail to display inspection sticker or proof
Additionally, the accused was also given warnings under the Highway Traffic Act for:
- Operate commercial motor vehicle – no valid CVOR certificate
- Operate vehicle – fail to display inspection sticker or proof
- Fail to surrender inspection schedule
- Fail to surrender completed daily inspection report
- Improper means of attachment – commercial motor vehicle
- Fail to surrender permit for trailer
