CENTRE WELLINGTON – A traffic stop conducted by the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) results in the seizure of approximately $10,000 worth of illegal drugs and offence-related property. Two individuals have been arrested, and several charges have been laid.
On May 8, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle on Second Line near Tower Street South in Fergus. The traffic stop resulted in two individuals being taken into custody without incident. Police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, cash, and other offence-related property.
The estimated street value of the illicit drugs is approximately $8,800.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old of Kitchener has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
- Breach of Recognizance
A 27-year-old of Brampton has been arrested and charged with,
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 6, 2025.
