ELORA – Local businesses in Elora are coming together to support the Elora Hawks Lacrosse team.
In 2024, the Elora Hawks became the Junior B Canadian Lacrosse Champions, not just winning Ontario but all of Canada.
Kat Florence Canada, run by Don Kogen and Kristy Hillis, is challenging the Hawks to win the Canadian Junior B Cup again this year.
In an email to the Elora business community, Kogen says achieving this would open the door for the team to be promoted to the Canadian Junior A league, which is connected to the Pro National Lacrosse League Draft.
“To support this goal, we have committed to donating funds if they win the 2025 Canadian Championship. The team will need $100,000 to compete in the Junior A league, and we need your help.”
So far, pledges have been made by:
- Kat Florence: $50,000
- Ayershire Hotel: $10,000
- Tony’s Pizzeria: $2,000
- Dar’s Fresh Market: $2,000
- Le Chien Chaud: $2,000
- Gents & Kings: $2,000
Kogan is encouraging the business community to “rally together and support” the Elora Hawks in their journey towards even greater achievements.
Those who decide to participate will only need to donate the pledged amount in December 2025 if the Hawks win the Full Junior B Canadian Championships and are accepted to the A league.
