CENTRE WELLINGTON – For the first time Centre Wellington Pride will present a Community Celebration event on June 14th.
The growth of the group since November of last year has been rapid, says event organizer, CW Pride’s Annette Chretien. Chretien says it now has approximately 100 members, with around 20-30 regularly attending group meetings.
Chretien went on to say this inaugural celebration is being put on by a group that was much required in the area.
Celebratory programming will include goodie bags, vendors, grilled cheese, and educational programming at various booths throughout the grounds of the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
Chretien says beyond the festivities, this event aims to strengthen an important community.
Chretien noted this celebration, among other things, looks to help people feel stronger and promote diversity.
She explains its no accident the motto “Stronger together” was chosen to drive CW Pride and their initiatives.
Chretien also tells The Grand at 101 the celebration will teach attendees a wide-spanning message.
1 p.m. will mark opening ceremonies.
