MAPLETON – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two motor-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 17, and Eighth-Line West, within Mapleton Township.
On June 16, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Wellington County OPP, alongside local emergency services responded to a report of a two motor-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 17, and Eighth-Line West, within Mapleton Township.
The collision involved a motorcycle vs sedan.
As a result of the collision, Wellington Road 17 was closed between Eighth Line West to Wellington Road 8, just west of Alma for a period of two hours, but has since been reopened.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital, later to be determined to have minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving.
