NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) -The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a break and enter / theft. Suspect unknown at this time and police are seeking assistance from the public.
On June 25, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a break and enter / theft which occurred at a local business on Main Street North with Mount Forest.
It was determined that on June 25, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., an unidentified suspect cut a hole through a wall of a business, granting access to the interior. The suspect took cash from the register and an entire safe, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
The suspect was described as:
-Believed to be male
-Dressed all in black
-Wearing a dark coloured backpack
The estimated value of the stolen property, and cost of the repairs is unknown at this time.
The investigation is continuing.
We are urging the public to come forward with any information in relation to this matter; including any dash camera or door cam footage through the area around the time of the occurrence.
