PUSLINCH – Two people are facing numerous charges thanks to a Good Samaritan’s call to police when they observed a suspicious person damaging wires affixed to hydro poles.
On July 2, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the theft of copper wire from hydro lines on Arkell Road in Puslinch Township.
Upon arrival, police discovered that several telecommunication lines had been damaged and cut down.
While investigating the scene, police located two suspects along with property related to the crime, in a wooded area nearby.
As a result of investigation, a 31-year-old of Guelph, and a 26-years-old woman of no fixed address, have both been charged with:
– Theft under $5000 (two counts)
– Mischief Over $5000 – Destroys or damages property
– Possession of break-in instruments
The accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph, on a later date.
