CENTRE WELLINGTON – Slower speed limits are coming to two Centre Wellington roads.
At yesterday’s Centre Wellington Council meeting, the manager of engineering, Adam Gilmore, brought forth the Posted Speed Limit By-Law Update, as originally presented to council in April.
The intention was to bring into effect the Speed Review and Calming Report for implementation with the addition of two new recommendations to reduce speed in two locations.
Those locations include Jones Baseline from 80kmh down to 60kmh between Side Road 5 to Side Road 10, which Gilmore said was for consistency in speed in the area.
The second speed reduction was based on public concerns in the area of Weisenberg Road from Wellington Road 21 to the township’s boundary limit, reducing the speed limit from 80kmh to 60kmh.
Councillor Barb Evoy was in full support of the motion.
The motion was passed by council.
