GUELPH – The Guelph Police Service has arrested a 29-year-old male in connection with a vehicle theft reported earlier this week, as well as in relation to a series of serious outstanding charges.
On Monday, July 21, 2025, at approximately 7:48 a.m., the Guelph Police Service received a report of a stolen 2023 Audi Q3 from the driveway of a residence on Ferris Circle. The vehicle had been locked, and both sets of keys were accounted for. There was no evidence of forced entry or broken glass, suggesting the vehicle was accessed without obvious signs of tampering.
Following a thorough investigation, members of the Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) Unit arrested a 29-year-old male on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The male was taken into custody for possession of stolen property over $5,000. The male was already wanted for several charges including:
- Communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services under 18
- Criminal harassment
- Indecent telephone calls
- Invitation to sexual touching
- Luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication
Additional charges laid during the arrest include:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Operation while prohibited ×6 (Canada-wide driving prohibitions)
- Breach of probation ×2
- Fail to comply with judicial release order
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

The Guelph Police Service reminds residents to take proactive steps to reduce the risk of vehicle theft:
- Park in a garage or well-lit area whenever possible
- Always lock doors and close windows
- Use anti-theft devices such as steering wheel locks or immobilizers
- Store key fobs in signal-blocking pouches (Faraday bags) to prevent relay theft
- Report suspicious activity around parked vehicles, especially during overnight hours
