CENTRE WELLINGTON – A driver is facing several charges after Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle travelling at high rates of speed near Salem.
On July 24, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7 north of Salem in the Township of Centre Wellington.
At this time, the officer observed a vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and as a result of investigation, Amanda MURDOCK, 34-years-old from Cambridge, has been charged with:
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph, on August 8, 2025.
*Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
