SCOTLAND – Martial artist, Nathan Skoufis of Guelph, captured the Gold Medal at the 2025 Taekwondo World Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland.
Representing Team Canada, Skoufis stood out among more than 3,500 athletes from over 40 countries. Skoufis is a lifetime resident of the area and started his martial arts training at the age of 4.
The World Championships are one of the largest and most prestigious martial arts tournaments globally.
Skoufis, a 6th-degree black belt and now 27-time world champion, delivered a series of dominant performances, defeating several world-class opponents on his path to the gold medal.

Skoufis was the only North American Black Belt Adult Male to Win Gold in a Fighting Division at the World Championships (18-40 years old).
