GUELPH – Guelph Police is investigating after a man approached a child at a Guelph school on Tuesday afternoon and asked to play with her.
Shortly before 7pm police were called to an address near Kortright Road West and Ironwood Road.
Police say a woman said her 12-year-old daughter had been kicking a soccer ball by herself at a nearby school when a man approached her two or three times, asking if he could play soccer with her.
“He also said she looked like his ex and asked where she lives and attends school,” police said in a news release.
The girl said she was uncomfortable with the interaction, noting another adult male approached and told the subject to leave her alone. The man walked away, and the child contacted her mother to pick her up.
The man was described as being in his 50s, possibly Korean, 5’6” with short black hair with some grey. He was wearing black shorts, a black shirt, black sandals and sunglasses and had a dog described as a small possibly Shih Tzu.
