The Upper Grand District School Board is welcoming new students for the upcoming school year with its annual Elementary Registration Day, taking place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at all UGDSB elementary schools.
Only new students to the UGDSB need to register. If your child attended a UGDSB school last year, no re-registration is required.
Families should register at their local school. To determine your school, use the board’s School Locator.
Parents of children entering Junior or Senior Kindergarten must pre-register online at ugdsb.ca. After completing the online form, families should visit their school on August 27 to verify their documents in person.
Please note: Junior Kindergarten is the only entry point for UGDSB’s French Immersion program. If you’re applying for JK French Immersion now, contact your local FI school directly, as the official registration period closed in January.
If your child was already registered in January, no further action is needed.
Grades 1 to 8
Families new to the board should first complete the online registration form.
Schools will post specific document verification instructions by the end of August. On Registration Day, school staff will be on-site to finalize registrations.
Required documents include:
- Proof of Age (e.g., birth certificate, passport)
- Proof of Address (e.g., utility or tax bill, lease or purchase agreement)
- Immunization Records (submit to Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health)
- Immigration documents, if applicable
If your child is switching schools within the UGDSB due to a move, fill out the appropriate form and submit it to the new school along with proof of address.
For students entering UGDSB secondary schools, a separate online registration form must be completed. After submitting, families should contact the new school to arrange an appointment for document verification.
