GUELPH – Five people face nearly two dozen charges after officers seized more than $120,000 worth of drugs and several weapons last week.
Earlier this summer, Guelph Police began an investigation into two men allegedly trafficking fentanyl in Guelph.
Last week, police say they executed search warrants at two homes and a storage locker in the west end.
As a result of the searches the following was seized:
- 965.84 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $116,000
- 190.51 grams of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $7,600
- 14.17 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,400
- Smaller amounts of psilocybin and Hydromorphone
- Nearly $10,000 in cash
- Weapons including a crossbow, nunchucks, pellet guns and knives
- Stolen property including expensive bicycles
Police say two Guelph men and three Guelph women face a series of drug, weapons and property charges.
“These arrests demonstrate the commitment of our members to ensure the safety of our residents,” said Guelph Police Chief Gord Cobey in a news release. “Thank you to the investigative team for their hard work and ensuring those who traffic these dangerous substances are held accountable.”
