NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP- The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking public assistance in identifying the driver of a white sedan that fled the scene of a collision, which resulted in a motorcyclist being transported to a trauma centre due to sustaining serious injuries.
On August 27, 2025, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Wellington County OPP, alongside other first responders, responded to a two motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 51 and Wellington Road 39, within Guelph-Eramosa Township, involving a white sedan and a motorcycle.
Upon arrival to the scene, the rider of the motorcycle was found on the ground, after recently being ejected from the motorcycle.
Witnesses described that the suspect white sedan, who was travelling northbound on Wellington Road 39, pulled directly out into traffic, by conducting an abrupt left-turn directly in front of the incoming motorcycle, causing the rider to attempt an abrupt stop, but ultimately getting ejected. The white sedan continued on and fled the scene in a westbound direction on Wellington Road 51 towards Ariss.
The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries, and was subsequently transported to a trauma centre for treatment.
Investigators are actively conducting an ongoing investigation and are appealing for the public for assistance. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has information, such as dashcam footage, that could assist with this ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
