NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Arthur resident with criminal charges following a traffic stop.
On September 9, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Garafraxa Street East in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old of Fergus was charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
- Novice Driver- Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero
- Speeding 1-49 Km/h Over Posted Limit
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on October 14, 2025.
