FERGUS – It was a successful home opener for the Fergus Whalers Junior Hockey club on the weekend.
On Sunday afternoon at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, led by goaltender Trevor Woods and strong offensive games by captain Tyler Ewald, Jake Lessor, Ryan Forwell, and Bo Brimell, the Whalers secured a 6- 1 win over the rival Hanover Barons.
The announced crowd of over 300 enjoyed the effort of the Whalers.
Fergus will be in Kincardine this Friday night at 8:30 pm to take on the Bulldogs, then back home this Sunday at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex at 3 pm to take on the Wingham Ironmen.
