NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Fergus resident with two criminal charges in connection with an intimate partner violence investigation.
On September 29, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address within Fergus, with the suspect fleeing the area prior to police arrival. Officers arrived on scene and began the investigation.
On October 1, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., as a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault – spousal
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – spousal
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
