FERGUS – A Key Ceremony is set to be held tomorrow at the newly built Garafraxa Village in Fergus.
In November of 2023, Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington broke ground at 465 Garafraxa Street for a new 32-unit townhouse development called “Garafraxa Village”.
Karyn Boscariol, Director of Communications and Resource Development, says there are three buildings in this community that have 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units.
She says they are stacked townhomes, with 10 market sale units available to help offset the cost of building, but more importantly, 22 of the units are going to be Habitat families, providing affordable home ownership.
Tomorrow, Habitat will be opening the first batch of doors to 10 families.
Those families will receive their keys to their homes at a special Key ceremony from 2pm to 5pm.
Boscariol says this is always a special event.
