STRATFORD – In local PJHL Hockey, the Fergus Whalers hosted the Mitchell Hawks at the historic William Allman Memorial Arena in Stratford on Saturday night.
Staked to an early lead on goals by Jake Lesser, Tyler Ewald, Cohen Robitaille, and a pair by Joey Martin, the Whalers appeared to be headed for their seventh straight victory, but a huge third-period comeback from the Hawks spoiled the party as Mitchell prevailed by a score of 7 to 6 in overtime.
The Whalers’ next home game is this Sunday, November 16th, against Hwy 6 rivals the Mount Forest Patriots, at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, puck drop is 3pm.
