CENTRE WELLINGTON – Remembrance Day will be marked throughout Centre Wellington and across the country tomorrow.
Randy Graham, President and Poppy Chair with the Fergus Legion Branch 275, says a parade to the Fergus Cenotaph will begin at the Fergus Legion at 10:30am, with the Remembrance Day service starting at 10:45am.
A remembrance day service will also be held tomorrow at the Elora Cenotaph at 10:45am and the Salem Cenotaph at 9:30am.
Meanwhile, this evening (Monday, November 10th), beginning at 5:30pm, a remembrance candle will be placed at each of the more than 500 memorial markers on the front lawn of the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
Each marker bears a name, honouring Wellington County’s fallen from the First World War, the Second World War, Korea, and Afghanistan.
Candles will remain lit until November 12, burning throughout Remembrance Day on November 11.
