Centre Wellington residents have made their priorities clear as council prepares the 2026 budget.
A township survey conducted through October drew 161 responses, with roads and bridges, parks and trails, and winter snow plowing ranking as the most important services. When asked where more funding is needed, residents again pointed to roads, growth management, and recreation.
The survey also showed a community divided on how to pay for improvements — with mixed opinions on raising taxes, cutting services, or increasing user fees.
About 58 percent of respondents said they believe they get fair or better value for their tax dollars.
Key themes emerging from written comments included calls for affordable housing, lower taxes, controlled growth, and continued support for green spaces and tourism. The results were presented to council this week as part of early 2026 budget discussions.
