GUELPH – A Guelph man faces several charges after he was discovered hiding inside a school on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they were called to the school at around 4:15 p.m. after a teacher discovered the man inside a closet while children were still present for an after-school program. It is believed he was waiting for the school to close to commit theft.
Police say the man fled but was located and arrested a short distance away.
During a search incident to arrest, officers located several credit cards in different names, several sets of car keys, three watches, and a number of tools.
A 48-year-old Guelph man is charged with break and enter, possessing stolen property, possessing break-in tools, and unauthorized possession of a credit card.
