Yellow Warnings
Yellow Warning – Snow Squall
In effect for:
- Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County
Impact Level: High
Forecast Confidence: Moderate
Local snow squalls expected to continue today.
What: Total local snowfall amounts of 10 to 30 cm with locally higher amounts possible. Near zero visibility at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow.
When: Continuing today. Diminishing tonight or Saturday morning.
Additional information: Lake effect snow bands off Lake Huron will continue to affect the area today. Conditions should improve tonight, although poor conditions may persist into Saturday morning for areas closer to Lake Huron.
Strong westerly winds gusting to 60 km/h will result in areas of near zero visibility at times in blowing snow. Travel may be extremely hazardous. Road closures are possible.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

Orange Warnings
Orange Warning – Snow Squall
In effect for:
- Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County
Impact Level: High
Forecast Confidence: Very High
Hazardous snow squalls continue.
What: Extremely hazardous travel conditions. Total snowfall amounts of 40 to 70 cm with locally higher amounts possible. Near zero visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Intense snowfall rates of 5 to 10 cm per hour at times.
When: Continuing into Saturday morning.
Additional information: This will be a long duration event with snow squalls likely persisting into Saturday morning, particularly near Lake Huron.
Strong westerly winds gusting as high as 70 km/h are also expected. These strong winds will reduce visibility to near zero at times in local blowing snow. Road closures are possible.
Non-essential travel and outdoor activities should be avoided. Prepare for some disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.
