WELLINGTON COUNTY – A driver has been charged after failing to stop at a stop sign on Highway 6 south of Fergus.
A video posted by the OPP shows dashcam footage of the vehicle failing to stop at the stop sign on Wellington Road 22 approaching Hwy 6, nearly causing a collision. The officer then conducts a traffic stop.
Police say the driver now faces a $490 fine, 6 demerit points, and a scheduled court date.
OPP say thankfully, no one was hurt as a result of this driver’s careless actions.
Wellington OPP is reminding motorists to drive responsibly and come to a complete stop at all stop signs.
