GUELPH – A Puslinch man who was warned not to drive because he was intoxicated was arrested Wednesday morning for impaired driving.
At around 10:30am, Guelph Police were called by staff of a business near Gordon Street and Clair Road.
Police say the caller advised a man had entered the business attempting to purchase alcohol, but staff refused as he appeared to be intoxicated. The manager of the business told the man if he drove police would be notified.
“The man left in his pickup truck despite the warning. Officers located the truck on Arkell Road and pulled it over. The driver was unsteady on his feet and showing signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests revealed he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system,” police said in a news release.
A 63-year-old Puslinch man is charged with impaired driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
