MAPLETON TOWNSHIP – A driver has been charged following a traffic stop in Mapleton.
On December 8, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic enforcement on Wellington Road 10 in Mapleton Township, where they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old from Otterville, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Race a motor vehicle
- Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph on March 11, 2026.
A 30-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
