NEWS RELEASE CRIME STOPPERS GUELPH WELLINGTON
On the afternoon of Tuesday November 25th 2025, a distraction theft occurred at a residential home located in the Township of Centre Wellington.
The victim had just returned home from attending a grocery store located on St. David Street North in Fergus and was approached by a male in their driveway. The male engaged in conversation claiming to have lost his dog. While the victim was distracted a second male entered the victim’s vehicle and stole the victim’s debit and credit cards. A short time later it was realized a withdrawal of $400 was taken from the victim’s bank account. The victim believes their debit card PIN was compromised at the store and the suspects had followed the victim home.
Suspect #1 is described as male, brown, 5-10”-6’ tall with an average build. Suspect #2 is described as male, brown about 5’9” tall with a slim build. The vehicle they were driving is described as a 2021 or newer, Chevy Malibu, 4-door, dark navy blue in colour.
