CENTRE WELLINGTON- With the snow now here, Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue is asking residents to take a few minutes for some winter maintenance on their property.
Christopher Paluch, Captain of Fire Prevention, says even though first responders know where hydrants are located when attending a call, having the area cleared of snow can save valuable time.
Paluch also reminds residents to ensure snow is not blocking their dryers and exhaust vents.
After a winter storm or snowfall, be sure to clear your gas meter! Gently use a broom or soft brush to remove snow/ice – never use sharp objects, a shovel or a blower on the natural gas meter and vents. Avoid hitting and kicking the natural gas meter and vents.#FireSafety pic.twitter.com/vdq9LF7jwB
