FERGUS – In local PJHL playoff action this past weekend, the Fergus Whalers began a best-of-seven semi-final series versus the Kincardine Bulldogs.
In Game 1 on Saturday evening in Kincardine, the Whalers prevailed in a spirited affair, by a score of 5 to 2 behind solid goaltending from Noah Lundgren and a 2-goal performance from Andrew McClure.
Back home, Sunday afternoon for Game 2 in front of over 600 fans, Fergus scored a decisive 6 to 2 victory with defenceman Liam Eveleigh registering a hat trick and regular season league scoring leader Joey Martin chipping in with 4 assists.
The Whalers now lead the best-of-7 series 2 to 0.
Game 3 between the two teams goes this Wednesday, at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, with game time at 8:45 pm.
