NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON, MINTO, HANOVER CULTURAL ROUNDTABLES
ARTHUR – The Cultural Roundtables of the Township of Wellington North, Town of Minto and Town of Hanover invite residents and community partners to the Cultural Symposium on Friday, April 24 at the Arthur and Area Community Centre.
This is the third annual symposium building the Saugeen Region’s cultural awareness in the areas of the Hanover, Minto and Wellington North Cultural Roundtables. The first was held in September 2023 in Hanover, and second in May 2024 in Harriston. The April 24 meeting is open to neighbouring municipalities, chambers of commerce, BIAs, businesses and cultural organizations, and other parties interested in attending.
The event gets underway at 10 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 2 p.m.
The agenda for the day includes:
- Keynote Speaker: The Moccasin Identifier – A cultural awareness training education session that explores Treaties, land relationships, and shared responsibility at a professional level. A stenciling activity is included to further engage and build awareness amongst attendees.
- A delicious lunch prepared by local restauranters.
- An update from the Wellington North, Minto and Hanover Cultural Roundtables to highlight current initiatives.
- Engaging New Audiences presentation by Debby Keown of KMI Consultants.
- “Put Me On The Podium” – A chance to share your organization or groups upcoming events and initiatives and swap brochures.
