NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – Cambridge resident facing three charges stemming from a local traffic stop.
On March 14, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Unit were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Beatty Line South within the Town of Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old from Cambridge is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive – handheld communication device
- Disobey stop sign – fail to stop
- Driver – fail to properly wear seatbelt
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.
