Press Release: Wellington County OPP, March 19, 2026.
ERIN – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West-Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team charges East Garafraxa resident in relation to a traffic stop within Wellington County.
On March 17, 2026, at approximately 8:45 a.m., the OPP West-Region TIME team was conducting a proactive traffic enforcement within Wellington County, resulting in a traffic stop being initiated on Trafalgar Road within the Town of Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old from East Garafraxa is charged under Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Defective braking system
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Driver fail to surrender licence
- Fail to properly wear seatbelt
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.
