NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – On March 20, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local emergency services received a report of a single motor vehicle collision involving a hydro pole at the intersection of Stone Road East and Jones Baseline within Guelph-Eramosa Township, just outside of the City of Guelph.
On arrival, a single vehicle was located with a hydro pole located on top of it, with live hydro wires exposed on the roadway.
The driver was able to escape the vehicle and was treated by Paramedic Services as a precaution.
Hydro Crews are on site, and the intersection of Stone Road East and Jones Baseline is expected to remain closed for most of the day. The public is asked to please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
