FERGUS – A 14-year-old is facing charges in Fergus after shoplifting.
On Saturday afternoon at around 5 pm, Wellington County OPP were called to a local business on St David Street North in Fergus for a report of a theft-in-progress.
As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old of Haldimand County, was taken into custody and charged with:
- Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting
- Assault
No injuries were reported.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.
The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
