NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(GUELPH, ON) – A Guelph driver is charged following a collision on the Hanlon.
On March 22, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hanlon Parkway and College Avenue West in Guelph. There were no reported injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old from Guelph, is charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence and Control Act with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Careless driving
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Fail to notify change of address
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 1, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
