FERGUS – In local PJHL action this past weekend, the Fergus Whalers took to the road for game 4 of their best-of-7 series on Friday evening versus the Hanover Barons.
Already leading the series 2 games to 1, the Whalers prevailed with a 3 to 1 victory to take a commanding 3 games to 1 lead in the series.
Justin Ewald led the attack with 2 goals for Fergus, while goaltender Noah Lundgren had another solid game between the pipes for the Whalers.
Back home in Fergus on Sunday afternoon, the Whalers were not to be denied, winning their First Pollock Division title in convincing style with a dominant 6 to 0 victory.
Joey Martin had a huge afternoon for the Whalers with 2 goals and 3 assists, while Noah Lundgren, with his second shutout of the series, stopped all 30 shots he faced.
The team now awaits the winner of the Stayner vs. Alliston series to determine their next opponent in their drive towards the Schmalz Cup.
