NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On April 6, 2026, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an altercation at an address within Centre Wellington Township.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old from Centre Wellington Township, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault with a weapon – Spousal
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
