PUSLINCH – A Guelph driver has been charged with several offences following a traffic stop.
On Tuesday night at around 9:30pm, Wellington County OPP initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Wellington Road 36 in Morriston.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer suspected the driver to be impaired.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old from Guelph, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 26, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
