NEWS RELEASE OLG
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make a fourth-quarter (Jan. 1 to March 31) payment totalling $608,175 to Township of Centre Wellington for hosting Elements Casino Grand River.
During OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), Centre Wellington has received $2,734,343. Since the gaming site opened in December 2003, Centre Wellington has received $47,597,758.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG shares revenues with host gaming municipalities to help them invest in local priorities, including community services and infrastructure,” said Joseph Racinsky, member of provincial parliament for Wellington-Halton Hills. “These payments generated at Elements Casino Grand River are part of our government’s commitment to support municipalities and to protect what matters most — those critical services families rely on.”
Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.
Over the past nine years, service providers have invested more than $2.9 billion in private-sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, two large-scale resort developments and expansions, many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
