MEDIA RELEASE CRIME STOPPERS GUELPH WELLINGTON
At approximately 6:15pm on Tuesday April 14th 2026, a theft of copper telecommunication wire occurred on Lake Road in The Township of Puslinch.
Stolen was approximately 25 metres of wire from the shoulder of the roadway. The suspect is described as male and was riding an e-bike.
Telecommunication wires are often targeted for their copper content, which is commonly resold at scrap yards.
This type of crime can have serious public safety consequences. These lines support critical services like 911 emergency access, medical alert systems and internet and phone connectivity. When compromised, it disrupts daily life and puts lives at risk.
