CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign is back this week, helping to raise funds to support local hospitals, community care organizations, food banks, and schools.
A local effort to bring hospice care closer to home is being featured in this year’s campaign in Fergus and Elora.
Aboyne Rural Hospice has been selected as the local recipient, with plans underway to build a new ten-bed hospice serving rural Wellington County.
Board member Dr. Clarissa Burke says the project will make a meaningful difference for families.
Burke says community support is key to making that vision a reality.
From today (April 27th) to Sunday (May 3rd), 100% of proceeds from Tim Hortons Smile Cookies sold in Elora and Fergus will be donated to support the hospice build.
Last year, Smile Cookie raised $22.6 million, supporting over 600 charities and community groups across Canada and in the United States.
Burke shares how residents can support the cause.
