ELORA – Centre Wellington Council has endorsed an application for funding to support upgrades at Bissell Park in Elora.
At its meeting on Monday, council agreed to apply to the 2026/27 Ontario Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone grant for the Bissell Park Multi-Use Pad Replacement Project.
The project is aimed at improving accessibility throughout the site, with plans for new barrier-free access routes so people of all ages and abilities can more easily use the space.
That includes a new ramp connecting the Bissell Park pathway to the multi-use pad, as well as a second ramp linking an existing park pavilion to the facility.
The upgraded surface of the pad is also expected to provide a safer and more accessible recreational area.
Staff is recommending that the township apply for the maximum $60,000 available through the program, which does not require any matching contribution from the municipality.
Council endorsed the recommendation.
Applications for this round of funding are due May 7th, 2026.
