CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township of Centre Wellington staff has started a pilot study with flexible bollards in three locations to evaluate the effectiveness of the bollard as a traffic calming measure and obtain community feedback.
Three road segments with relatively high traffic volumes, a history of vehicle speeds in excess of the posted speed limit, and that have minimum travel lane width of 6.5 metres were selected.
The flexible bollards will be installed at the following locations:
– Sideroad 4 in Inverhaugh
– Millburn Boulevard in Fergus
– David Street West in Elora
Bollards were installed on Millburn Blvd yesterday and bollards will be installed on Sideroad 4 and David Street early next week.
The Township says they will all be removed in October prior to the start of winter control operations.
