NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – An individual has been charged following a bicycle theft in Mount Forest.
On May 6, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a stolen bicycle from a residence in Mount Forest. Police shortly after located an individual in possession of the bicycle. The individual was arrested and became uncooperative with the officer.
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Obstruct peace officer
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
