WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP – A Hanover resident is facing four charges stemming from an intimate partner violence investigation.
On May 11, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of altercation at an address in Mount Forest.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old from Hanover, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
- Theft under $5,000
- Fail to comply with Probation Order
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
