MAPLETON TOWNSHIP – On May 10, 2026, at approximately 5:45 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint after barricades marking an unsafe bridge on Sideroad 6 in Mapleton Township, were found disturbed. The barricades were quickly restored to their proper position.
The Wellington County OPP reminds the public that moving, tampering with, or removing road‑closure signs, barricades, or other traffic‑control devices would be subject to an investigation and may result in charges. Such actions also create a serious safety risk for all road users.
