Next Thursday the Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) will be hosting its second annual Emerging Insights juried exhibition where secondary school students will show off their artistic passion.
Jurors selected 25 artworks from students in the Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) to be put on display at the exhibition.
Museum and Archives curator, Hailey Johnston, said this is an exciting opportunity for the students to have their work shown in a professional format.
The WCMA will open its doors for the exhibition at 7:00 p.m. on May 28, and the opening reception will conclude at 9:00 p.m.
However, that is not the end of the gallery.
Johnston said the students’ works will be proudly displayed until September this year which will allow plenty of time for community members to check out some local art.
She said this exhibition could be a great confidence boost for budding artists looking for a way to start their crafty career.
The aforementioned jurors are Eric Allan Montgomery and Phil Irish.
