NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – Three vehicle collision results in G2 driver facing two charges.
On May 16, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local emergency response, were dispatched to the intersection of Sideroad 5 and Trafalgar Road, within the Town of Erin, involving a roll-over.
While on scene, it was discovered that there were three motor vehicles involved, with a blue sedan found to be on its side, off on a nearby property, and a white sedan located in a nearby ditch. The third vehicle, a white Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was found to be stationary on the roadway.
The driver of the rolled-over blue sedan went to hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported from the other drivers involved.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old G2 driver from Markham is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless Driving
- Driver – Fail to properly wear seatbelt
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.
