CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington’s mayoral race is beginning to take shape ahead of this fall’s municipal election.
Former councillor Neil Dunsmore has officially entered the race and, at this point, will challenge current Mayor Shawn Watters, who is the only other candidate that has officially registered to run.
Dunsmore represented Ward 4 on council before making a run for mayor in 2022, where he finished runner-up in a three-candidate contest. He earned 3,417 votes, trailing Watters by 688 votes.
Watters secured the role of Mayor in 2022 with 4105 votes.
Voters in Centre Wellington head to the polls on October 26th.
